Frequently asked questions.
Is prepayment required?
Prepayment is only required for services from pro se / private party individuals. Law firms, collection agencies, bail bond companies, and other professional businesses are discouraged from prepaying for services as its easier for us to invoice at the conclusion of the job request.
How will I be updated on a service?
We use ServeManager to track your serves and provide updates. Upon completion of service, the program will automatically generate a notification to an email address of your choosing. We are also able to send notes directly to you should any issues arise, such as a bad address determination.
When can I expect an affidavit?
Affidavits / Declarations are typically completed on Mondays and Fridays with the originals being scanned to you prior to being mailed out as part of our Monday Mailer routine. On rare occasion, the mailers may go out on Tuesdays if the case load in the office is high or due to federal holidays.
Do you do court filings?
We do offer court filing services in Clark County and Cowlitz County upon special request for an additional fee. We do not offer any regular courier route so any messenger jobs are by special request only. Typically we are relied on when a clients primary courier is unavailable.
Can you locate a defendant?
Columbia Process Service is owned and operated by a licensed private investigator. Skip tracing services are available to locate a defendant prior to service going out, or after the determination of a bad address with the ordinally provided location.
